The Batam City Government received an award from the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati for the success in compiling and presenting the 2017 Financial Report with the achievement of Unqualified Opinion (WTP) opinions. The award certificate was handed over by the Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Treasury of the Riau Islands Province to the Regional Secretary of Batam City at the Batam Mayor’s Office on Monday (10/22).
“We receive this award because we succeeded in achieving WTP opinion for the 2017 financial statements,” said the Regional Secretary of Batam City, Jefridin.
According to him this is the fifth year Pemko Batam gets a WTP opinion from the results of the examination of the Financial Report by the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). Because he had received a WTP five years in a row, last September the Batam Government also received an award from the Minister of Finance.
The award was received by the Deputy Mayor of Batam, Amsakar Achmad at the 2018 National Accounting Work Meeting and Government Financial Reporting at the Dhanapala Building, Ministry of Finance Office Complex.
The Ministry of Finance gives awards to 93 entities of State Ministries / Institutions and Regional Governments (Province, City, and District). For 2017, the Ministries / Institutions that received WTP opinions increased to 79 Ministries / Agencies from 73 Ministries / Institutions in 2016. At the Local Government level increased to 411 Local Governments from 374 in 2016.
“This award was received by Pemko Batam because five consecutive years from 2013 to 2017 got the best opinion, Fairly Without Exception,” Amsakar said after the Coordination Meeting.
The achievement of the WTP opinion obtained shows that the financial governance performance of Batam Government is in line. According to him, this will not be realized without the support of the Batam City DPRD and the Regional Organization Organization (OPD) of the Batam City Government and the KPK Kopsurgah team which encourages Batam Government to conduct good financial governance. Despite receiving the Amsakar award, they hope that the OPD will continue to carry out financial management well and in accordance with the provisions.
“We make this award as an incentive to work better in the future,” he said.
